President of Guatemala “requests the forgiveness” of the family of Jacobo Arbenz, a leftist who was violently removed from power in a coup backed by the CIA. Can the US also apologize for engineering the coup? They already apologized for the STD studies conducted in Guatemala in the 1940’s, the should apologize for the coup in 1954.
